But it's not Christmas if there isn't a small child dipped in glitter making their own card.

Twas back in London 1843 that the first commercially printed Christmas cards was designed by John Calcott Horsley.
Horsley was commissioned by Sir Henry Cole, a wealthy business man, who wanted to send cards to all his friends and business associates to wish them a Merry Christmas. He started a trend, sending Christmas cards were all the rage from then on...that is until 2009!
Anyone else noticed a serious lack of actual Christmas cards? Our piano top is fairly unencumbered with the things. However every other email is an xmas mailer.
Not a problem in itself as it's more considerate of the environment, and some pledge the money they would have spent on printed cards to charity. Plus we too send a xmas mailer and have done for the past 5 years. What bothers me is that at a huge number of what comes through is awful, and not in a good-tacky-Christmas-way.
Why people, why?

The Crumpleds padded down to the All Star Bowling Lanes on Brick Lane for their xmas-do, to see who was best at knocking them down.
We were loving the 1950's design, especially the red and turquoise combination, but the all important question is who was best...

We are utterly at a loss to understand why people on twitter feel the need to follow someone that never, ever says anything! - seems a little bonkers to me
