Ooooooo Dufaaylite

by Gillian 24. May 2010 11:58

The beginning of the month saw the launch of the new Dufaylite manufacturing group website, which has been redesigned by London based web and branding agency, Crumpled Dog (that's us).

Re-launched with a vibrant new look, new content and significant layout updates. The new website creates an information hub, covering every product across the Dufaylite product range, including re-launching the Ultraboard and introducing the new Clayboard product.

The result: an enhanced user expereince for Dufaylite customers.

Talking about the website, Ashley Moscrop at Dufaylite, commented: "I really believe this is a key change for the company and is the beginning of a new start for Dufaylite. I have no doubt tht this work and the ongoing improvements we have planned will ensure it delivers the return we are looking for and revitalise the Dufaylite image."

Worried About The Boy

by Gillian 19. May 2010 11:34

As part of the BBC's 80's series, Worried About The Boy was a take on the early years of Boy George and the brief New Romantics Scene of the early 80's.

Forget the story line (which was good) and the acting (also good), it was the cinematography by Tony Slater-Ling that stole the show.

You have to also love that the above clip is so true of clubs. If you don't have the right look, then you are not coming in.

Here's Looking At You Kid

by Gillian 5. May 2010 17:42

Last night I briefly caught the More4 documentary Erasing David - where London based David Bond tests the system to see quite how difficult it is to disappear in the 3rd most intrusive surveillance state in the World (that's the UK in case you were curious). I'll be honest I didn't stick around to discover the conclusion, I left David sheltering at his Dads house whilst the Private Investigators on his trail staked out his Mum's house in the wilds of North Yorkshire.

I won't engage in a discussion on how much is too much and the switch from safely to control, but the TV documentary will add fuel to the ‘we are being watched’ debate that’s been simmering since George Orwell’s 1984 dystopian novel was published back in the late 1940’s.

In the build up to the 2010 general election citizen-control.tv launched a campaign to bring attention to the slow erosion of privacy & civil rights using a Hitler image with a CCTV moustache. Correctly or otherwise is another level of the debate - click here for CR blog's take on it.

Back in 2008 Banksy create the below on the side of a building in London.

Hilarious in October of 2002 the following poster campaign was put up on London bus routes. The hilarious bit is that it wasn't a guerilla art campaign mounted by privacy and civil rights advocates, but part of an official anti-crime campaign by the Metropolitan Police! The message is that the public should feel secure from being under constant surveillance. How successful this was I'd love to know.

Bowie Brought Us Together

At Crumpled HQ we very rarely agree on music, often resulting in argument and mockery.

The one exception being David Bowie.

Everyone likes a bit of Bowie.

Propaganda Poster

by Gillian 5. May 2010 12:23

Today Stylist Magazine have feature an article on how women's votes changed the world, and as interesting a statement as this is, what I am more driven to comment on are the posters & magazine covers employed to further the cause.

Nice Thing

by Gillian 5. May 2010 12:15

Most marketing gifts we get through the post usually ends up in the recycling with barely a look and no memory of who sent it.

Yesterday however, through the Crumpled door came a Fedrigoni pleasure puzzle. Maybe it was the distraction, or the challenge, or the basic curiosity to see what the picture was, but we couldn’t leave it alone until it was pieced together.

A rather nice little thing to get. Other organisations take note – random plastic pens and branded notepads just won’t cut it.
