tea for two and two for tea

by Gillian 29. July 2010 16:11

Since the bottom fell out of the crashing market with a crunch, there has been a definite trend towards the homely, comforting and nostalgic. The old techniques are back on the scene and handmade has never been so valuable - reaching back to a rose tinted, bygone era where life was simpler and people took the time to connect face to face rather than through face book.

Which brings me to tea; ever walked down Shoreditch High Street and seen a town house which always looks closed - green paint work, a handless clock a sign stating Time For Tea? Ever wondered what it is?

Behind the mysterious facade is a home come tea rooms straight from the 1940's, perfect for those to take the time to sit and chat over cake and lashings of tea on a Sunday afternoon.

Thank You

by Gillian 16. July 2010 17:55

From Jackson, our placement student, who spent a week at the kennels and was a very good egg.

"Christian! Thank you so much for letting me ‘infiltrate your organisation for the last week, I have really enjoyed myself and am going to seriously miss it.

Say goodbye to crumpled dog when he finally comes home for food… sorry for letting him out thanks again

Cool But Smokin' Hot

by Gillian 12. July 2010 10:06

The Yves Saint Laurent exhibition at the Petit Palais in Paris has to be one of the most impressive curated fashion exhibitions I've ever been to. On a crushingly hot day immersing yourself in the cool air conditioned world of beautifully designed clothing was bliss.

On until the 29th August 2010, if you are in Paris, it is definitely worth a visit.

Future Date & The Power of a Tweet

by Gillian 6. July 2010 16:18

Total Film sent a tweet out yesterday declaring that the 5th July 2010 was the date Marty (as in McFly) goes to the future (not back to it) in the film BTTF 2.

Back To The Future

It was, of course, a hoax, but it caused an online sensation and 'Back To The Future' was the most searched topic on Google that day!

I just love the power one simple statement can have.

The actual date, so you can put it in your diaries, is 21st October 2015 at 4.29pm.

Which begs the question: Will Nike create a campaign to correspond with this date for Nike Dunks?
